Gujarat-based Zodiac Energy recently secured an order from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to build a 30 MW ground-mounted solar project in its home state. The company is responsible for designing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning a grid-tied solar project.

The contract also includes the erection, operation, and maintenance of the project for five years, along with leasing/subleasing agreements. The total project value is Rs. 154.27 crores, and it is expected to be completed within 18 months from the date of receiving the order.

Status Of Ongoing Projects

Elaborating on its current and ongoing project, Zodiac Energy stated an investors’ call, “Today, with more than 80 MW of various kinds of solar power plants installed, and serving a diverse clientele including individual residents, large corporations, and government organizations, Zodiac Energy Limited is a formidable force in the solar energy sector. In the solar sector, we operate in multiple verticals, including new initiatives like residential rooftop systems, commercial and industrial rooftop solar, ground-mounted open access for captive solar power plants, and utility-scale solar projects.”

The company in an investor call said, “We have installed a 15-kilowatt solar tree, which is one of the largest in the country. Additionally, we installed an 800-kilowatt floating solar power plant for GSFC in Sikka and numerous solar car parking installations where solar panels were fitted above parking spaces.”

The company also plans to diversify, as mentioned in the investors’ call: “We are investing in the PM KUSUM scheme, and we have a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited (UGVCL). The power generated from the 26.5 MW solar power plants under the PM KUSUM scheme will be sold to UGVCL, a subsidiary of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). Additionally, we are engaged in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), where we set up solar power plants on behalf of our customers, and the electricity generated is consumed by our customers for their captive requirements.”
