GTAT Corporation announces multiple orders for polysilicon equipment and technology By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Mon, Jun 20th, 2016 U.S. polysilicon, solar and sapphire equipment maker and principal operating arm of GT Advanced Technologies group, GTAT Corporation (GT) has announced that it has received several new orders for polysilicon equipment and technology from customers in Asia since exiting Chapter 11 in March. New orders received by GTAT include its latest hydro-chlorination Fluid Bed Reactor for the production of Tri-chlorosilane (TCS) beside upgrades to existing hydro-chlorination Fluid Bed Reactors and polysilicon CVD reactors. Tri-chlorosilane supports more than 12,000 MTA polysilicon equivalents. The company’s hydro-chlorination upgrade can increase production of TCS by over 25%. GT’s latest generation CVD upgrade can reduce power consumption by up to 25%. These improvements, coupled with GT’s suite of technologies, enable the production of polysilicon at a cost below $10/kg. “We are pleased to be able to provide further solutions for driving down the cost of manufacturing polysilicon,” said Dave Keck, CEO of GT. “Our next generation equipment gives our customers a competitive advantage in terms of manufacturing costs while maintaining or improving product quality.” Tags: green energy, GT Advanced Technologies group, GTAT Corporation, polysilicon equipment and technology, Renewable Energy, Solar, Solar Energy, Solar News, Solar Power
