Odisha’s Expanding Solar Ecosystem

With these new approvals, the total number of solar companies setting up manufacturing units in Odisha has risen to seven. Alongside these four firms, other companies such as Waaree Energies, AMPIN Energy Transition, and Icon Solar-En are also exploring opportunities in the state. Icon Solar-En is reportedly deciding between Odisha and Chhattisgarh for its operations.

Odisha-A Preferred Destination?

Odisha is quickly gaining prominence as a solar manufacturing hotspot, second only to Gujarat. The state’s pro-solar policies, including capital incentives, exemptions from power and stamp duties, and workforce-related benefits like PF and ESI support, make it an attractive destination for investors. Additional advantages include lower land costs and affordable labor.

As India ramps up its solar ambitions, Odisha’s strategic policies and favorable business environment position it as a crucial player in the nation’s renewable energy landscape.
