NTPC REL & Greenko Sign One of the World's Largest RTC Renewable Supply Agreement Hyderabad based Greenko Energies Pvt Ltd will be supplying clean power to ArcelorMittal, Ayana Renewable Power and three Indian states from its upcoming renewable energy plus storage facility worth 5,230 MW being constructed in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, according to reports. Just days ago, Greenko commenced the work on the integrated RE storage project in Kurnool district. The project’s foundation stone was laid by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. As per Greenko, the project would prevent emission of about 15 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. It is being mulled as the largest RE storage project in the world that will attract an investment of over $3 billion. World steel leader ArcelorMittal has been at the forefront with this Greenko project as it has made an investment of $600 million for 1,000 MW capacity. In the entire project of 5,230 MW, 3000 MW is solar power, 550 MW wind power and the remaining 1,680 MW is pump storage capacity. The project will also have 10,800 MW as the daily storage capacity. Greenko Group claims itself to be among the leading RE players in India. The company says that it has a capacity of 7.5 GW across solar, wind and hydro generation assets spread in 15 states. Greenko has already initiated Integrated Renewable Energy Storage Projects in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
