On a day when the benchmark Nifty index rose by 0.41%, most stocks in our green pack comfortably outshone the index. Leading the charge was the venerable Tata Power, which rose over 6.5% on the back of the commencement of cell manufacturing operations. Also rising sharply were the two key wind turbine sellers, Inox Wind and Suzlon, as orders win continued to pour in for these firms. The EPC firms KPI Green, Waaree RTL, Shakti Pumps, and SWREL also rose, making it a strong day for the pack overall. A new open access policy in Maharashtra could lend more strength to these firms, all of whom have a strong footprint in the state.
With the week just in day two for the markets, momentum today might just take these stocks to higher levels by the end of the week as optimism rises on the results for this quarter.
