Green Stocks Nov 21: Adani Crash Headlines Poor Day For Green Stocks

On a day when the crash in the stock of Adani Green Energy took most of the attention, almost all green energy stocks save Wind equipment maker Suzlon suffered. Though obviously not at the scale of Adani Green Energy, which slumped almost 18%. For the rest, it was a matter of trying to limit losses, as it semes to be mostly the impact of the accusations linked to the Adani Group which caused the slump today. Waaree Energies continued to feel the heat after a poor Q2, where the firm seemed to have lost the momentum from previous quarters. The other recent lister, Acme Solar also slumped over 9% as the market continues to get a handle on its prospects versus valuations.

While most market watchers agree that almost all relevant solar firms, especially manufacturers and EPC firms have a clear order book right upto Q2 of Fy2026, worries are beginning to surface about the prospects post that period, and possible risks to those. Keep in mind that in many ways, valuations have been taken to a stage where the possibility of disruptions has been minimised, so any risk of a disruption will likely lead to sharper corrections as well as investors remain skittish.
