Green Stocks July 31: Solar EPC’s Carry The Weight Of High Expectations And Valuations By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Wed, Jul 31st, 2024 As feared, small-cap EPC developer Waaree Renewable Technologies was down at the lower circuit today, down 5%, despite a strong set of numbers. Skittish investors are unwilling to take a risk with highly valued firms unless their results are truly extraordinary. Adani Green continued its steady recovery back, however, thanks to strong results and positive broker coverage. Tata Power, JSW Energy, and the Wind energy firms, Inox Wind and Suzlon continued to move up strongly, however, as broader market changes were seen to benefit these firms. That left the public sector SJVN and Gensol as the only other significant losers today. For the EPC pack within the green stocks list, only SWREL or sterling and Wilson Renewable escaped losses today. The three other EPCs, namely Waaree Renewable Technologies, Shakti Pumps, and KPI Green it is their elevated valuations that continue to keep them nervous, ready to exit at the first sign of any stumble. These firms will need to keep a steady stream of good news coming in to maintain these levels, or risk further falls.
