Gram Panchayats in Haryana to get Solar Plants By Ankur/ Updated On Thu, Dec 20th, 2018 The decision to implement this project has been taken in a review meeting of New and Renewable Energy Department chaired by Manohar Lal Khattar. Haryana government under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has taken a decision to install solar energy plants on gram panchayat land through Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL). The decision to implement this project has been taken in a review meeting of New and Renewable Energy Department chaired by Manohar Lal Khattar along with Development and Panchayat Minister OP Dhankar. The CM, post the meeting, directed the Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayat Department, Sudhir Rajpal to send a written communication to all gram panchayats with immediate effect. The communication instructed gram panchayat’s those who want solar plants on their land, to inform their intent Renewable Energy Department provided that the available land is not less than 10 acres. HPGCL will provide technical assistance if the panchayat constructs the solar plant with their own fund. Dhankar also apprised the meeting about the demand for solar plants by the Badhsa, Ghaglan and other villages of Jhajjar district.
