Govt Released Rs 1,325 crore Till Now For PM-KUSUM Latest data from the government furnished before the Parliament revealed that the government has infused around Rs 1,325 crore for promoting solar irrigation. This was done with the central funding for the PM-KUSUM scheme, dedicated to boosting solar irrigation across the country. The latest data said that the government invested a total of Rs 1,325.77 crore till October 2024 for the scheme. This marked an increase of ₹325.19 crore from last year’s funding of ₹1,000.58 crore. The data claimed that states like Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Rajasthan remained the highest beneficiaries of the centrally sponsored scheme. Funding to these states increased significantly: Maharashtra saw an increase from ₹330.21 crore in FY 2023–24 to ₹741.81 crore in FY 2024–25 (till October). A similar trend was observed in Jharkhand (from ₹2.36 crore to ₹49.62 crore) and Karnataka (from ₹2.38 crore to ₹81.25 crore). Both of which experienced more than a doubling in funding. Meanwhile, Rajasthan witnessed a massive jump in funding under the scheme, rising from ₹49.41 crore to ₹280.01 crore. In contrast, states like Gujarat saw a decline in funding during this period, from ₹28.72 crore to ₹5.15 crore. Haryana also experienced a drop in funding, from ₹429.78 crores to ₹103.34 crores, while Uttar Pradesh’s funding fell from ₹92.13 crores to ₹35.46 crores. 81% Of PM-KUSUM (Comp B) Capacities Come From 5 States Also Read In a written reply to Parliament, the Minister of State (MoS) Shripad Naik of Power stated: “PM-KUSUM is a demand-driven scheme. The funds under the scheme are released based on the progress of installations reported by the State Implementing Agencies (SIAs) and as per the provisions of the scheme guidelines.” PM-KUSUM Funding Meanwhile, states like Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, and northeastern states such as Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram received no funding under the scheme. Other states, including Puducherry, Telangana, and West Bengal, also did not receive any funding. Over the years, starting from FY 2021–22, funding under the scheme has shown steady growth. It increased from ₹406.04 crore in FY 2021–22 to ₹801.36 crore in FY 2022–23, further rising to ₹1,000.58 crore in FY 2023–24. This demonstrates incremental progress in funding under the scheme.
