However there was not a single participant who requested for rescheduling or adjournment of the July 1 roll out Power, coal, renewable energy and mines minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said that the government’s decision to roll out Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 1 July onwards has received unanimous support. The minister speaking to the media after a meeting with Industry representatives on key GST provisions said “lot of time was spent conversing on aspects of the new GST regime which government will be rolling out from 1st July. The issues that we discussed were mostly technical which can be resolved. “ According to ET the meeting was attended by representatives from the ministry of finance too. Goyal said that there were some issues where consultation maybe called for with the GST council. However there was not a single participant who requested for rescheduling or adjournment of the July 1 roll out. Goly also informed the journalists there that issues around the 18% tax slab has already been resolved and it has been already GST would not have major impact on power sector.
