GoodWe, SCGJ Organise Solar Cup 2023 For Enterprising Youths

Inverter company GoodWe India and the Skill Council for Green Jobs recently organized a competition for enterprising students, Cup 2023, to test their skills and reward them for their performance in the sector. The event took place recently at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

The competition was crafted for real-time testing of the skills of the youth. “We saw an overwhelming response from the youth who participated in the event. People from several states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and other areas participated in the event and tried their hand. The event was organized to test the youths’ skills and reward them for outstanding performances. These sessions include questions on the solar technologies and real-time project development skills,” the firm said in a statement.

The event was divided into two segments. The first round was based on multiple choice questions where 45 questions related to solar and renewable technologies were posed for the participants, carrying 45 marks in total. Based on the highest scores by students, nine candidates were chosen for the final round.

In the final round, the youths were given solar panels, GoodWe inverters and other technologies and were asked to make these installations within a specified period. The candidates were divided into three different teams. They were asked to do the installations in 4.5 hours.

Three candidates were awarded based on the performance of candidates and scrutiny by a panel of judges. They were given Rs 75,000 in cash and were also chosen for scholarships so that they could pursue their career in the renewable sector. These included Raushan Kumar, Aasif and Meghraj.
