Goldi Solar to Expand Capacity to 2.5 GW with New Plant in Gujarat By Soumya Duggal/ Updated On Tue, Jun 15th, 2021 Solar Panel manufacturer and EPC provider Goldi Solar has announced its plans to increase its manufacturing capacity to 2.5 GW with a new facility on the outskirts of Surat, Gujarat. Presently, the existing facility has a capacity of 500 MW and the expansion of 2 GW has been planned in two stages. The first phase is slated to commence by the end of Q2 FY21-22 with a 1 GW commercial production. The second phase of production will start by the end of Q4, FY 21-22. Goldi Solar’s second facility will also see a new production line introducing a first-of-its-kind micro-gap module technology (MGMT). The new modules will have a gap of less than 0.75 mm as opposed to the standard 1.5 mm between the cells in the string. This ensures better coverage resulting in improved productivity and higher outputs. The line will feature both mono-facial and bi-facial modules.
