Global RE– INVEST 2017 postponed, new dates to be notified soon By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, Dec 15th, 2016 Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has postponed the 2nd Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet & Expo (Global RE-INVEST 2017) which was scheduled from 15-17 February 2017 in Gandhi nagar, Gujarat. The ministry notes that it is working on fresh dates and will notify shortly. Global RE-INVEST 2017 is being organised in partnership with the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The ISA is a common platform for cooperation among 121 solar resource rich nations. The initiative was jointly launched by PM Modi and President of France, François Hollande on 30 November 2015 in Paris, France. ISA aims to increase the diffusion of solar energy by aggregating markets, developing common standards, taking solar power applications to scale to improve energy access and livelihoods of marginal and unserved communities. The objective of the RE-Invest series of conference-expos is to showcase India’s renewable energy potential and the Government’s efforts to develop and scale up installed renewable energy capacity to meet the national energy requirement in a socially, economically and ecologically sustainable manner. Global RE-Invest 2017 edition will not only continue the ongoing information campaign on renewable energy in India to established stakeholders, but also reach out to newer segments of investors and entrepreneurs like start-ups and venture capitalists interested in clean energy.
