Gensol Electric’s EV Launches Garner 30,000 Pre-Orders

Gensol Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (GEVPL), a subsidiary of Gensol Engineering Limited , stood out at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 with the grand unveiling of its micro urban mobility compact electric vehicle, ‘EZIO’ and a last-mile delivery and cargo electric vehicle ‘EZIBOT’. The company has announced 30,000 pre-orders received for EZIO and EZIBOT from existing fleet operators, highlighting the strong market demand and trust in its innovative mobility solutions. In India, the B2B use case has been the stringest for electric vehicles so far, outside of the e-rickshaw market that remains powered by primarily lead acid batteries still. Both the EVs feature two door, two seater designs.

The launch of the two vehicles catering to specific urban requirements is a key milestone for Gensol’s push to carve out a significant share of the market in India.

EZIO is a 2-door, 2-seater electric vehicle designed for city commuting. It features an innovative reverse trike design that optimizes energy efficiency, reduces vehicle weight, and enhances stability—making it the ideal solution for fleet operators and shared mobility users navigating urban traffic. According to Gensol, its smart features include:

1. Compact and Practical Design: The unique reverse trike structure reduces parking challenges, optimizes rear storage, and ensures enhanced maneuverability, making it perfect for dense urban areas.
2. Exceptional Range and Charging Efficiency: Capable of covering 200 km on a single charge, EZIO supports the fastest AC-based charging in its segment, achieving a full charge in just 2-3 hours.
3. Unmatched Affordability: With running costs as low as ₹0.50-0.60 per km, EZIO is up to 80% cheaper to operate than petrol vehicles, providing significant savings for fleet operators.
4. Uncompromised Safety: EZIO’s space frame chassis, crafted with high-tensile steel, ensures superior strength and durability. The vehicle has undergone over 100,000 km of rigorous testing in diverse conditions to meet stringent safety and performance standards.

While those claims will be tested soon as users get their hands on the first vehicles to roll out, the fact remains that in urban centres, the case for EVs is strong, and will likely power growth in the short to medium term. The broader EV market for passenger cars is still to take off at scale, though 2025-26 promises to bring some exciting options for serious users.
