GE Renewable Adds 148.5 MW Win From Continuum For Wind Portfolio By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, Jun 17th, 2021 Wind Energy major GE Renewable Energy announced yesterday that it has won a contract from Continuum Green Energy India Pvt Ltd to set up 148.5 MW wind energy capacity in Bhuj wind farm in Gujarat. The deal includes a mandate to supply, install and commission 55 sets of its 2.7-132 onshore wind turbines for the 148.5MW Morjar, Bhuj wind farm in Gujarat, India, a statement from GE Renewable Energy said. For GE, this is another opportunity for its successful 2.7-132 wind turbine which has been designed to deliver in low speed regions too, making it a strong offering for India. The turbine has a strong local sourcing footprint with design done mostly at GE’s Technology Center in Bengaluru, blades manufactured in GE’s plants in Vadodara and assembly at the GE Multi-modal Manufacturing Facility in Pune. For Continuum, the project in question was part of the win during SECI’s tranche VI auction, back in February 2019. Between financial closure, and covid delays, these projectsare running behind schedule, although completion dates would be before 2022 end now.
