GB Solar Starts Work On Expanding Module Capacity to 2 GW

Vadodara, Gujarat based PV manufacturer GB SOLAR TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD ( formerly GreenBrilliance Renewable Energy LLP), is expanding its PV module production capacity to 2.0 GW. The capacity, located in Karjan, Vadodara, will start production within 6-8 months this year.

A ground-breaking ceremony was held on 7th June, 2024 at the site in the village of Karjan, in the Vadodara District of Gujarat.

The company launched the construction work for the facility recently. The new facility will be fully automated and use cutting-edge technology for the production of advanced modules. The company will produce n-type TOPCon in addition to mono bifacial and mono PERC modules, in ratings ranging from 3 Wp to 750 Wp.

GreenBrilliance was established in 2008 to cater to the export market of USA and Europe and Nearly 200 MW of solar modules have been installed in the international market from 2008 to 2015, claims the firm. It also has an EPC division that executes solar projects.

In 2016, the company was taken over by Epoxyhouse Group of Industries to cater to the Indian Market as the demand for Solar PV Modules was increasing and added 125 MW of manufacturing capacity.

Epoxyhouse Group was established in 1972 with the flagship company ‘Baroda Bushings and Insulators’ under the leadership of Dalsukhbhai Patel and today has 11 companies in its vertical. The group exports to 45 countries lie UK, USA, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Portugal, Egypt, China, Malaysia, Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sweden, France, Thailand, Norway, Brazil, Korea, Sri-Lanka, Spain, South Africa, and Poland and has annual turnover of 1000 Cr.

GB Solar joins a host of other Indian manufacturers, particularly Gujarat based firms that are expanding capacity significantly to cater to a projected demand for close to 50 GW of solar annually till 2030 and beyond.

Under the leadership of the chairman Kirit Patel and Dipen Patel and Jay Patel,  GB SOLAR TECHNOLOGIES PVT LTD ( formerly GreenBrilliance Renewable Energy LLP) was established as the renewable vertical of Epoxyhouse and aims to become a 2 GW manufacturing facility by 2025 end. Also it is actively looking into cell manufacturing and Inverter manufacturing possibilities.
