GAIL Issues Tender To Build Rooftop Solar Project In Bangalore GAIL, a natural gas company, recently released a tender to design a solar-integrated rooftop system (SITC) and an on-grid rooftop solar project with a net-metering system in Bangalore. The bidder would undertake net metering for the project in the preceding seven years from the bid due date. The last date for bid submission is 16th December 2024. In a bid, to increase Karnataka’s rooftop solar potential from the current 632.13 MW capacity, Gail India released the tender. The project is expected to be completed within six months as per the Solar Charge Controller (SCC/SOW). Bidders are required to submit a bid security earnest money deposit of ₹92,000. The bid validity period is 90 day The tender also mandates the construction of a standalone system with a 40 kWp and 6 kWp capacity featuring a solar PV array. Bidders will be responsible for constructing 74 (1 LOT) projects. This project is designed to produce DC electricity when solar rays are incident upon the array. In cases where rooftop space is unavailable, the solar PV array must be installed at ground level. They must also handle the installation, commissioning, gross metering, liaison charges for obtaining statutory approvals, statutory payments, synchronization, and other related tasks. Additionally, the tender exempts all startups [whether Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) or otherwise] from prior experience as mentioned for the BEC. They are also exempted from meeting the quality and technical specifications specified in the tender document.
