Fully Solar Powered Park to Open in Beijing

The park is located in Beijing’s Haidian district and uses solar collectors on the roof of buildings and its solar stations can charge four mobile phones.

Putting up the solar energy milestones on display, Beijing is constructing an energy park in which almost every facility will be powered using solar energy.

Spread in an area of 4 sqkm, visitors can charge their electronic devises at a solar-powered umbrella.

The park is located in Beijing’s Haidian district and uses solar collectors on the roof of buildings and its solar stations can charge four mobile phones simultaneously.

The park which is slated to open next year is named as “G-Park Technology Park”.

The roofs, buildings and the pavements will be installed with thin-film solar components. The sunlight will provide electricity to the lighting equipment. In winter the electricity generated by the solar panels will be used to heat up the road and melt the ice.

The solar films which will be installed are going to be waterproof and can support up to 2 tons of weight.

The total installed capacity of the park is 7,000 watts and it is slated to produce 10,000 kilowatt of electricity per year.

The park is being journtly developed and will be jointly run by Chongqing-based Longfor Group, a property developer, and Hanergy Holding Group.

Taking innovative strides, the park will also generate electricity from kinetic energy using the visitors foot step’s energy.
