First Solar Power, Wind and Diesel Hybrid Power Plant Commissioned in Sri Lanka By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Mon, Feb 13th, 2017 Sri Lanka gets its first wind, solar, diesel hybrid power plant with a capacity of 60kW in Jaffna. Sri Lanka has opened its first solar power, wind and diesel hybrid power plant with a capacity of 60 KW that will generate electricity using wind, solar and diesel. Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya inaugurated the plant in Eluvathivu Island in Jaffna. The new Solar Power, Wind and Diesel Hybrid Power Plant with a capacity of 60 KW will generate electricity using wind, solar and diesel. It has been built with the financial assistance rendered by the Asian Development Bank and the Ceylon Electricity Board aiming the promotion of green energy at a cost of 187 Million Sri Lankan rupees, the news.lk reported. One unit generated by this power plant will cost about 9.14 Sri Lankan rupees.
