Fintel Picks Windey to Supply for 810 MW Onshore Wind Farm

Wind energy firm in the Balkans, Fintel Energija, has picked Chinese OEM Windey to supply for its Maestrale Ring project in Serbia worth 854 MW capacity. This is said to be the largest European onshore wind farm.  

The agreement signed between the two firms entails the supply as well as installation of 112 of the WD200 7.7 MW wind turbines. The MoU also includes a ten-year service and maintenance agreement for the said wind farm once the units achieve installation. This will be done by establishing a local service firm, whose headquarter is in Belgrade. 

The CEO of Fintel Energija, Tiziano Giovannetti said, “We are very proud to announce once again Windey as our selected turbine supplier, which marks a milestone in the project and brings it closer to commercial operation. He further added, “This highlights our ability to build value in our portfolio projects, by advancing them to more mature stages and higher valuations.”

The Regional Director at Windey, who looks after its European business division Kai Wang commented, “We are honoured to have been selected as preferred supplier for Fintel’s Serbian wind projects and the trust that the Fintel placed once more in Windey. We are excited to engage in the largest European Wind Farm and we reaffirm ambition to partner with customers and suppliers to make wind energy profitable, scalable, and serviceable. Windey continues its ambition to be a leader in the region and we remain committed to contribute to Serbia`s clean energy target, in close partnership with Fintel.”

Back in January 2023 too, Windey, had bagged a contract with Fintel Energija for wind farm projects with a cumulative capacity of 110 MW.

Fintel has so far 13 projects in its portfolio and has 1 GW of installed capacity.
