EVI Technologies, HPCL IN Agreement For EV Chargers at 136 Locations

The network of EV charging stations is going to spread out with every Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) petrol pump at 136 locations offering its space to EVI Technologies for installation of a charging station.

A press release issued by EVIT, a startup with profile of 380 EV chargers in 17 cities across India, claimed to have partnered HPCL for installation of charging stations in major cities, highways in UP, Bihar, Uttarakhand. There will be slow and fast EV chargers for electric scooters, autos and cars at 136 locations.

Rupesh Kumar, CEO of EVIT says, “Our association with HPCL will allow both companies to contribute towards the goal of reducing carbon emissions. We are excited about this strategic tie-up providing an opportunity for our customers to easily avail of charging solutions at various locations across India. This move will not just help EV users get rid of the range anxiety, but we expect this to create awareness among other car owners to start using EVs.”

The agreement is notable for its focus on coverage of highways in Bihar, Uttarakhand and UP as the EV buyers in the states are cautious and find lack of charging stations while on the move as a big deterrent. The partnership with HPCL is expected to play a strong role in encouraging EV owners to charge their vehicles along various petrol pumps. The company is present across various segments of the EV eco-system – public charging, captive charging, home, workplace charging and ultra-rapid chargers for buses.

EVIT has been providing EV charging solutions to multiple clients in India since its inception and started a journey with public sector company EESL in its first ever tender in India for 10,000 EVs in the year 2017. In March, EVIT also launched its mobile application EVI Grid. The EVI Grid is a personalized mobile app that enables its users to find the nearby compatible EV charging point for electric vehicles. It can be downloaded by Android users from Google Play Store.
