Mobility Firm Marelli To Supply Battery Thermal Plate To Carmakers Pune-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Eka Mobility will be investing Rs 600 crore for the expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Chakan and Koregaon Bhima in Pune district, Maharashtra. According to the company Eka Mobility, the company aims to establish an initial manufacturing capacity capable of producing approximately 2,000 buses and 6,000 LCVs annually. Furthermore, Sudhir Mehta, the founder and chairman of Eka Mobility, revealed plans to focus on the production of buses and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) at these plants. At present, the EV maker is involved in providing electric buses to local municipal bodies through the tender route. In January this year, EKA Mobility said it would supply 1,000 intercity electric buses to GreenCell Mobility. The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), under which 1,000 intercity electric buses in 12-metre and 13.5-metre categories would be supplied by the company to GreenCell Mobility in the next few years. In other news, E-Mobility firm Magenta Mobility and logistics firm Kuehne+Nagel have announced a partnership aiming at decarbonising road freight in India. “This collaboration reaffirms the commitment of Magenta Mobility and Kuehne+Nagel to sustainability and innovation in logistics. Magenta Mobility to offer sustainable electric mobility solutions and Kuehne+Nagel to adopt electric vehicles (EVs), marks a significant move in the Indian EV logistics ecosystem,” stated Magenta Mobility in a statement. Eka Mobility has also launched its 1.5-tonne electric Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) today. The firm has partnered with Mitsui Co., Ltd.
