EESL Roundtable For Enabling an Ecosystem For Trigeneration in India By Ayush Verma/ Updated On Fri, Jan 25th, 2019 Trigeneration enhances operating efficiency of an industrial application by at least 60 percent, saving industries and institutions about 30-40 percent in operating energy costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 30 percent. The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of four National Public Sector Enterprises under Ministry of Power, hosted a roundtable panel discussion on, “Creating an Ecosystem for Trigeneration Business in India”. The roundtable was attended by senior officials from Government of Maharashtra and delegates from international and Indian industry. During the discussion, the stakeholders deliberated on the way forward for promoting the nationwide adoption of Trigeneration as a transformative technology. This process uses a single fuel input to simultaneously generate electricity, heat, and cooling. This solution enhances operating efficiency of an industrial application by at least 60 percent, saving industries and institutions about 30-40 percent in operating energy costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 30 percent, due to inherent efficiencies in energy generation through technology interventions. The event also witnessed the signing of four Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and agreements between EESL and industries and institutions across Maharashtra. Saurabh Kumar, Managing Director, EESL said, “The intervention potential of trigeneration technology in revolutionising India’s energy landscape is immense. EESL is proud to pioneer the effort towards harnessing this potential with globally-leading and award-winning integrated solutions that can redefine energy security for India. The attendance at today’s event reassures me that EESL is not alone in this ambition, speaking volumes to the foresight and commitment of our clients, partners and the speakers at this event in delivering on a shared vision for a sustainable future for India.” EESL is offering trigeneration technology to industries and institutions in India through its unique Pay-As-You-Save (PAYS) business model for an integrated service offering that would include equipment maintenance, as well as electricity, heat and power supply. While clients will not bear any upfront costs for technology installation, EESL will redeem the capital and operating costs for the installations through demonstrated energy savings of the institution and industry.
