EESL Invites Bid For 70 MW Solar Project in Maharashtra Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of Union Power Ministry, has issued tenders seeking bids for 70 MW of Solar Power Generating Systems. The tender is regarding design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, operation, and comprehensive maintenance service contract of 12 years for up to 70 MW of Solar Power Generating Systems (SPGS) ranging from 2 MW to 10 MW at various locations in Maharashtra. According to the tender document, the international competitive bidding will be conducted by ADB’s single-stage: Two-Envelope procedure and is open to all bidders from all eligible source countries of ADB, and universal procurement will apply. The bidding documents will be available after around 21 days from the date of publication of the subject. Further, prospective bidders can download the bidding documents approximately 21 days after the IFB’s publication via EESL’s official e-portal, with a submission deadline set around 45 days from the document’s availability. In other news, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) announced the development of the Green Hydrogen project and its derivatives (Green Ammonia, Green Methanol) with the Maharashtra government. The project is expected to generate up to 1 million ton capacity per annum. Some other projects that have been planned to develop include Pump Hydro Projects (PHP) of 2 GW and the development of renewable energy (RE) projects with or without storage of up to 5 GW in the state. So far Maharashtra has been at the top in providing rooftop solar subsidies. The data by MNRE mentioned that states that provide the highest subsidy for rooftop solar are Maharashtra (58.28), Gujarat (52.34), Arunachal Pradesh (33.09) Madhya Pradesh (31.29), and Delhi (22.24).
