EESL Floats New Tender to Procure Electric Cars By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Tue, Feb 11th, 2020 In its drive to promote more & more adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country, state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) has issued a new tender for the procurement of electric cars (e-cars). As per the tender details, EESL will procure 1,000 e-cars with extended range above 180 Km as per the ARAI. These electric cars must be having a warranty period of three years along with three years of comprehensive AMC. Besides, the electric cars must be having separate “warranty of six years plus six years of comprehensive AMC – design, manufacture, on-site supply and maintenance for electric cars on pan-India basis”. The application fee for interested bidders is Rs 25,000 and the last date and time to apply for the same is February 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Further, the earnest money deposited (EMD) will be Rs 2.1 crore for package-1 and Rs 70.6 lakhs for package-2. However, there are some benefits provided to the Startups and MSEs in this tender such as: All MSEs notified as per GFR 2017 clause no. 1.10.4 and as notified below shall be exempted from payment of tender document fee and bid-security/EMD. For claiming this exemption, MSE must, along with their offer, provide proof of their being registered as MSE, with any agency mentioned in the notification of Ministry of MSME.
