DhaSh PV Set To Boost Vertical Integration, Diversify Production By Manish Kumar/ Updated On Thu, Feb 20th, 2025 DhaSh PV Set To Boost Vertical Integration, Diversify Production Indian solar solutions company Dhash PV is now working towards diversifying its product range for the Indian solar market. The company is now optimistic about the early commencement of its proposed manufacturing unit at Karnataka. Talking exclusively to Saur Energy, Bhupendra Singh Rawat, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company said that the new proposed plant is likely to be operational in the next four months. He was taking to Saur Energy at the sidelines of Inter-Solar, Gandhinagar. “We are undertaking backward integration, and this is happening at our facility in Tumkur Sera, Karnataka. This facility is set to begin operations in the next four months. We are entering the market with our 45 A certified junction boxes. As the industry moves towards higher-wattage modules, we have showcased our 2000V junction box and connectors. We anticipate certification for these products within the next three to four months,” he said. Inter-Connect & Bus Bar Production Rawat said that the new manufacturing plant will augment the production capacity of the company and also boost its capacity to diversify solar product production. Rawat also talked about the plans of the firm to start the production of Inter-Connect and Bus Bars. “Our current expansion in Karnataka, which is a standalone facility, will have a production capacity of 50GW of solar junction boxes, 1,000 kilometers of DC cables per day, and 100 kilometers of polymer capacity. Additionally, we are entering the Inter-Connect and Busbar segment with an initial capacity of 6.3GW, which we plan to expand further in the coming years,” he said. He claimed that Dhash PV is the only No.1 non-Chinese company which is into the production of junction box. “I want to reiterate that we are the global No. 1 non-Chinese integrated junction box maker. Currently, we are transitioning from being a product supplier to a solutions provider. In addition to manufacturing junction boxes, we are now also supplying DC cables,” he said. Transitioning With Higher Wp Modules Rawat also said that with the rise of solar module wattages, the company has tried to improve on its product to cater to the highly efficient modules. “We are future-ready and continuously adapting to industry shifts. Previously, with mono-PERC technology, we used junction boxes rated at 25A. We then transitioned to 30A, then 35A, in response to increasing system voltage requirements. UL certification has transitioned from 600V to 1500V, while PUV has shifted from 1000V to 1500V. The new benchmark is now 1500V, and we foresee system voltage at the developer end undergoing further changes. We are fully prepared for this transition,” Rawat claimed. On the question of competing with China, he said that it is a significant challenge. “However, as an integrated manufacturer, we have a competitive edge with our in-house production capabilities. The largest components—solar cables and diodes—were previously outsourced, but we are now bringing them in-house. Moving forward, we also plan to venture into diode packaging as part of our second phase of expansion.” Watch a small glimpse of the video interview with Mr Rawat here (Linkedin).
