Delhi Govt Issues Tender for 3,000 Electric Two Wheelers in 90 Locations in Dwarka The Delhi government has issued a tender inviting bids from service providers towards the deployment of high and low-speed e-scooters and also e-cycles in Dwarka. The announcement comes as part of the Public e-Scooter Sharing (PeSS) System and Public e-Cycle Sharing System (PeCS) initiative. The bids have been invited with a view to ensure last-mile connectivity for public transportation. The bid opens on October 4, 2023. The bid closes on October 20, 2023. Under the announcement, 3,000 two-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs) would be introduced across 90 locations in the Dwarka sub-city. This will happen in a phased-manner in three phases. Phase I will see 1,500 electric vehicles, entailing e-scooters and e-cycles- high speed as well as low speed. 750 vehicles will be deployed under the subsequent two phases. The cost of the project is pegged at INR18 crore. The project is to be implemented in a period of six months during phase I. Phase II and Phase III have to be implemented in a time span of four months each. A timeline of seven years has to be committed for operations and maintenance. Eligibility To be eligible, bidders must be original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), authorised dealers of OEMs, or fleet aggregators of e-scooters/e-cycles. They must meet a set of technical requirements and achieve a minimum score of 70 marks to qualify. Proof of concept with two operational vehicles at site conditions is also a must.
