Deepak Thakur Is New MD & CEO, Mahindra Susten By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Tue, Aug 16th, 2022 Mahindra Susten, the cleantech arm of the Mahindra Group has welcomed Deepak Thakur as the new MD &CEO, effective August 16, 2022. Thakur will oversee the renewables businesses, comprising Mahindra Solarize and Mahindra TEQO apart from Mahindra Susten. He will be directly reporting to Dr. Anish Shah, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Group. Prior to Mahindra, he was Leader- Renewables & Energy Storage (Executive Vice President) at the Reliance Group and was part of the core group for building the strategic plan for the New Energy vertical and actively involved in M&A transactions in this domain. Before this, he was in the position of CEO – Hybrid and Energy Storage Business for Sterling and Wilson, a Shapoorji Pallonji Group company. In addition, he was responsible for the Wind EPC and e-mobility verticals of the Group and was on the boards of Sterling PBES Energy, a Canadian marine battery solution company and GCO Australia. Thakur is armed with experience working with major industry players such as Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Honeywell, and Thermax. He brings to the table a proven track record of incubating new businesses with global footprints. Being able to successfully handle various responsibilities encompassing sales, marketing, corporate strategy, business planning and strategic alliances in addition to P&L ownership across a wide spectrum of industries comprising energy, industrial equipment, electronics, and infrastructure, in career spanning three decades, is among his fortes. Academically, the stalwart has completed Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Pune University and is an alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. An avid reader, Thakur is lately spending time in coaching and leadership development related training.
