Credence Gets BIS Certification For 730Wp TOPCon Modules By Manish Kumar/ Updated On Thu, Apr 3rd, 2025 Indian solar module manufacturer Credence Solar has received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its latest 730Wp TOPCon-based solar modules, the company announced in a media statement. With this milestone, Credence Solar joins a select group of Indian manufacturers certified for producing some of the country’s most efficient solar panels. The company told Saur Energy that following the certification, it is now set to commence the dispatch of its high-efficiency solar modules. Market Response and Dispatch Plans “We launched the 730 Wp modules at the Inter Solar event in Gujarat and have received strong feedback from our clients,” said Jinto Joseph, Head of Sales and Business Development at Credence Solar. “Credence is the first indian manufacturer to get BIS up to 730Wp. Manufacturing has started, and we are ready to dispatch these new modules. We are also open to new orders for these TOPCon cell technology-based panels.” Efficiency Gains for Solar Developers Joseph highlighted that the higher efficiency of these modules could help solar project developers reduce land usage and lower balance-of-system (BoS) costs. He provided a comparison: a 1 MW solar project using conventional 590 Wp modules requires around 1,700 panels. In contrast, switching to 730 Wp modules would reduce the requirement to 1,370 panels, eliminating the need for 330 additional modules. “These high-capacity modules were previously available only in countries like China, but we are now bringing them to the Indian market. This positions Credence as one of the leading players in the high-efficiency solar segment in India,” he added. Advanced Technology and Expansion Plans The new modules come with 19 bus bars, a feature aimed at improving efficiency. Joseph noted that in the past two to three years, Credence has built a reputation for introducing advanced high-efficiency solar panels. The Rajkot-based firm is also expanding its production capacity, not only boosting solar module manufacturing but also preparing to launch solar cell production in the near future. Competition in the High-Efficiency Segment Credence’s entry into the 730 Wp module market adds to the competition among Indian solar manufacturers. Previously, Waaree Energies showcased its 730 Wp HJT-based modules at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo in Greater Noida. Similarly, Vikram Solar introduced its 700 Wp–725 Wp HJT modules, catering to the growing demand for high-efficiency solar panels in India. With more players entering the high-wattage module segment, the shift is expected to enhance project viability for solar developers by improving the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) and optimizing resource utilization.
