CONSYST to Build State RE Data Center at Kerala State Electricity Board By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Tue, Jun 23rd, 2020 Engineering and technology solutions provider CONSYST has secured a project from state-owned Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd (KSEB) to build the state renewable energy (RE) data center at Vydyuthi Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. Kochi-based CONSYST is a leading Industry 4.0 automation system integration company. Kerala Tenders for Empanelment of Contractors for 150 MW Rooftop Solar Projects Also Read Commenting on securing the project from KSEB, Jasir Sabri, Managing Director at CONSYST, said that, “CONSYST is committed to fostering sustainability through the right use of technology. This project is a perfect example of how well we execute our mission.” Further, the scope of work includes design, engineering, supply and commissioning of IT equipment and software solutions to collect real-time data from various MW and kW solar power plants distributed across the state. “India has set itself a target of 175 GW renewable energy capacity by 2022, of which 100 GW is from solar power. The state of Kerala does not have a lot of empty, spare lands to build large solar power plants and is relying on rooftop installations to contribute to the target set by MNRE,” added Sabri. He further said that “KSEB is promoting its ‘Soura’ scheme where numerous grid-tied kW plants are supposed to generate power. This project will use state-of-the-art technologies like RTUs, Cloud Computing and IIoT to connect kW and MW solar PV plants and deliver business value to our esteemed customer, KSEB and help achieve its ambitious green energy goals.” Post commissioning of the system, it is expected to help KSEB in evaluating and analysing the performance of renewable energy generation inside the state more precisely in real-time and manage grid operations better. Recently, KSEB invited bids for the empanelment of contractors on EPC, EPC-RESCO hybrid basis for setting up of rooftop solar PV power plants worth 150 MW in the domestic sector in Kerala during 2019-20 & 2020-21, under the SOURA project. ‘SOURA’ is a scheme of Government of Kerala (GoK) aimed at developing Solar PV Rooftop/Ground mounted plants aggregating to 1000 MWp in the state in the true spirit of MNRE goal of achieving 100 GW of solar plants by the year 2022. SOURA scheme of the GoK includes 500 MWp through rooftop program within the coming 2 years. KSEB is in the process of creating a Special Purpose Vehicle for the smooth implementation of the project.
