CMPDI Invites Bids for 5 MW Floating Solar Project in West Bengal By Lakshita Kapoor/ Updated On Wed, Oct 9th, 2024 Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI), a unit of Coal India, has floated an e-tender for a 5 MW grid-connected floating solar power project. The project will be developed at the Quarry Sump of Dalmia Open Cast Project (OCP) in Salanpur Area of Eastern Coalfields, West Bengal. As per the tender, the developer is required to assign a selected bidder to carry out commissioning work of the project within 270 days after receipt of the work order. In addition to installation, the developer shall undertake O&M for five years. The total estimated cost of the project would be ₹310.14 million ($3.69 million). Bidders can submit their proposal by October 24, 2024, and tenders opening shall be done on the next working day. There has to be an earnest money deposit of ₹3.87 million ($46,094) for all the tenderers. The performance security equivalent to 5% of the contract value shall be furnished within 21 days after receiving the letter of award by the winning bidder. Experience Bidders must have completed experience in the following solar projects: designing, supplying, installing, commissioning and testing grid connected solar power systems, either ground-mounted or rooftop or floating. At least three projects equal to at least 20 percent of the tender value, two projects equal to at least 25 percent, or one project equal to 40 percent of the tender value should have been completed. For the three years up to March 31, 2024, the bidder’s average annual financial turnover should be at least 30% of an estimate project cost. Bidders will have to demonstrate that they possess, for instance, adequate working capital equivalent to at least 20% of the estimated cost of the project and also access to lines of credit as well as other financial resources.
