Cleantech Solar Commissions 150 MWp Open Access Solar Park Project In Maharashtra

Cleantech Solar, a renewable energy solutions provider has commissioned an open-access solar PV project for industrial customers at its 100 MWp solar park in Maharashtra. This is Cleantech Solar’s seventh renewable energy park in the state. The company last year commenced the commercial operation of its sixth open-access solar PV project of ~150 MWp, for multiple clients at a solar park in Jalkot, Maharashtra.

Power generated from these projects is being procured by clients on a captive basis to meet their energy requirements for manufacturing operations. This solar park’s client base currently spans leading chemical and FMCG manufacturers. For one of them, multinational specialty chemical manufacturer DRT- Anthea, this is the second open-access project with Cleantech in the state.

Satish Rao Chairman & Managing Director, DRT-Anthea Aroma Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., said, “Through this partnership, we are sourcing approximately 70% of our Power requirements from renewables.”

Open access renewable projects have made a smart recovery in Maharashtra after some easing of regulations provided a better operating environment. Discoms like Mahavitaran have changed their approach to solar significantly, allowing for faster approvals and progress.
