Chemplast, JSW Enter PPA To Build 84.9 MW Hybrid Project In TN By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Mon, Mar 3rd, 2025 Tamil Nadu-based manufacturer of speciality chemicals Chemplast Sanmar and its wholly owned subsidiary (WOS), Chemplast Cuddalore Vinyls Limited (CCVL), have entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with JSW Green Energy Nine Limited. As per the terms of the agreement, the companies have agreed to execute a Share Subscription and Shareholders’ Agreement with JSW Neo Energy Limited and JSW Green Energy Nine Limited. The company further commented on the collaboration and stated, “JSW Green Energy Nine Limited (SPV) has been incorporated to set up Renewable Power Plants in Tamil Nadu, with a Solar Capacity of 64.9 MW AC (92.80 MW) and a Wind Capacity of 20 MW. The SPV, as a captive generator, will supply power to the company and its subsidiary under the Group Captive Power Scheme.” The company mentioned that “Under the Agreement with the SPV under the Group Captive Power Scheme, the Company and its WOS CCVL will be able to source environmentally friendly Green Energy (Wind and Solar) upon implementation of the project by the SPV. This will facilitate captive consumption on a long-term basis and significantly reduce the energy costs of the Company and CCVL.” The company further shared details of the collaboration and mentioned, “A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), JSW Green Energy Nine Limited, has been incorporated by JSW Neo Energy Limited. Chemplast Sanmar Limited (CSL), together with its subsidiary Chemplast Cuddalore Vinyls Limited (CCVL), has agreed to acquire equity shares to the extent of 18.46% and 7.81%, respectively, of its total paid-up share capital.” JSW Expansion In Tamil Nadu JSW Energy Ltd. last year in 2024 announced the successful commissioning of a 300 MW wind power project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. This project, developed by its subsidiary JSW Renew Energy Two Limited, is the company’s first greenfield wind power plant under SECI’s tranche X.
