CESL Opens Bids To Bring 1,800 Cargo E-Cycles In Four States To scale up the demand for energy efficiency projects in India, Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), an Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) subsidiary released a tender to promote micro-mobility solutions in Bihar, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh. CESL’s latest tender uses part of the financing received by the Indian government from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The tender seeks to procure 1,800 cargo electric cycles with a three-year comprehensive warranty. The last date for bid submission is 26th November. Energy Efficiency Services Limited has been entrusted with the responsibility of procurement and monitoring for this pilot program. CESL, under the Ministry of Power, is implementing this program for EESL to enable the scale-up of electric vehicle markets through pilot demonstrations and to create conditions favorable for e-mobility investments. The bidder is expected to undertake design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, full bicycle warranty, transit insurance, and delivery to the project site. The bidder(s) shall also provide a comprehensive onsite warranty for three years, including free maintenance and arranging periodic service of electric cycles deployed in different cities for one year from the date of deployment at the specified location. Under the tender, CESL seeks to deliver 1,800 cargo electric cycles in three lots through this tender to its clients. The rate quoted by the bidder should be inclusive of freight and transit insurance on a CIF basis until the delivery locations, free periodic maintenance service for one year, and a three-year comprehensive warranty. CESL will coordinate product delivery with the selected bidder until reaching the specified location. CESL may carry out quality inspections of materials at manufacturing company or dealer locations when necessary. Expenses toward boarding, lodging, and incidentals for this purpose are covered by CESL. The delivery period for supplying electric cycles would be within 90 days from the issuance of the purchase order by CESL. In case of any changes in the delivery period, the selected bidder will be informed in advance. Under Lot I, the successful bidder is expected to deliver electric cycles to Patna, Vaishali, and Muzaffarpur districts in Bihar, along with GPS as a service for one year. However, under Lots II and III, the bidder will need to ensure the timely delivery of electric cycles in the districts of Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh, respectively.
