Canadian Solar Sets Sights on 5 GW Wafer Unit in Thailand e-STORAGE, an arm of Canadian Solar Inc., has received a supply and integration contract worth 1 GWh DC in Arizona. Under the agreement, e-STORAGE will offer energy storage solutions for DEPCOM Power, Inc. and Tucson Electric Power (TEP). The project boasts rated capacity of 200 MW and comes with an aggregate storage of 800 MWh AC capacity. This project is said to be among the largest in Arizona. e-STORAGE will look into the delivery of its proprietary energy storage solution SolBank to the Roadrunner Reserve System project. DEPCOM Power will be responsible for setting up the project. TEP will serve as the owner and operator of the project, which will be the largest energy storage system on TEP’s energy grid. After the operations start, the energy storage project will power almost 42,000 homes for a duration of four hours. This is the second noteworthy project by e-STORAGE in Arizona. As of now, the firm looks into the operation of two completely automated manufacturing facilities boasting a capacity of 10 GWh per year. Canadian Solar has a strong presence in the US and had revealed in September 2023 that it had successfully finalized close to 4 GWp of solar module contracts during the 2023 RE+ show in Las Vegas, USA. The firm’s presence in the US will be strengthened with its upcoming Texas factory.
