Brookfield Announces Sale of 1.6 GW of RE Assets To Gentari By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Wed, Mar 5th, 2025 Brookfield Announces Sale of 1.6 GW of RE Assets To Gentari Brookfield Asset Management, an alternative asset manager headquartered in New York, and its affiliates (“Brookfield”) today announced the sale of 1.6 GW portfolio of solar and wind assets in India to Gentari Renewables India (“Gentari”). These will be structured in two phases. The first phase, comprising the sale of 1 GW of operating assets, is complete. This marks Brookfield’s first full cycle portfolio monetization in India for its Renewable Power & Transition business. Our assets, located in North and South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific comprise a diverse technology base of hydroelectric, wind, utility-scale solar and storage facilities. In India, Brookfield’s renewable power and transition portfolio comprises of approximately 40 GW of wind and solar assets in operation, construction and/or development across leading platforms. Gentari, which also owns Amplus Solar In India, is ramping up its India presense steadily, and expects to have a significant portfolio in place by 2030 comprising Renewable energy, Green Hydrogen and even electric mobility solutions. The Brookfield acquisition is the second acquisition by Gentari in India in the last 1 year. Gentari had bought the 185 MW solar power portfolio of Finnish firm Fortum Oyj in May 2024.
