Bridgeway Power Launches First Virtual Net Metering Solar Plant In Delhi By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Mon, Nov 4th, 2024 Highlights : The project, carried out at a residential site uses VNM that distributes solar energy generation across three distinct electricity meters. The setup efficiently allocates the generated power as follows: 50% to the primary meter, 40% to a secondary meter, and the remaining 10% to a third. Bridgeway Power Launches Virtual Net Metering Solar Plant In Delhi Bridgeway Power, a residential and commercial solar installation company, recently installed the first Virtual Net Metering (VNM) solar plant under BRPL (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited) of 21.60kW capacity in Delhi. This project has opened new avenues for energy sharing and cost savings across multiple locations. The project uses a bi-facial panels and micro-inverter technology. VNM in effect allows even those without their own terrace or land to share in a solar project installed elsewhere. The project, carried out at a residential site uses VNM that distributes solar energy generation across three distinct electricity meters. The setup efficiently allocates the generated power as follows: 50% to the primary meter, 40% to a secondary meter, and the remaining 10% to a third. The plant is powered by the more efficient bi-facial panels, which utilize both the front and back surfaces for increased efficiency, and micro-inverter technology, enhancing performance and reliability. This case not only showcases advanced technology but also exemplifies how VNM can maximize the impact of a single solar installation across multiple properties. “Our journey to establish this pioneering Virtual Net Metering installation was not without its challenges, but the dedication of Team Bridgeway has paid off. We navigated complex policies and regulatory requirements to create a replicable model for residential and commercial property owners in Delhi. This installation not only showcases the feasibility of VNM but also opens doors for widespread energy sharing and savings, empowering multiple users within the same power utility network.” said Arshi Chadha, Founder, Bridgeway Power.
