Bridgelink Engineering Buys RE Firm BCR Companies

Bridgelink Engineering has acquired BCR Companies, a construction company in the renewable energy industry. Both the companies are based in Texas, United States.

BCR Companies was a family-owned professional construction company providing a wide range of industrial construction solutions within the energy industry. Operating in multiple locations across the U.S. since 2012, the firm provided general construction, civil and mechanical engineering for multibillion dollar solar and wind projects until now.

Through this acquisition, Bridgelink Engineering is now poised to strengthen its engineering, procurement, and construction portfolio, said the company. A turnkey Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) company with over 700 employees and 21 large utility-scale RE projects across the country, Bridgelink Engineering is on track to output renewable solar, wind, and battery storage projects generating over 8GW of renewable power in 2021 through 2023, the firm added.

Intermountain Electric, a transmission and distribution company operating for over 50 years, drives the electrical engineering portion of Bridgelink’s business.

“As our solar and wind portfolio continues to grow, we are proud to deliver clean energy to the grid,” said Cord H. Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Bridgelink Engineering. “Our vision has pushed Bridgelink to make it a top tier EPC in the world of renewable energy. Yet, it’s like everything we are achieving is bigger than Bridgelink. It’s about creating a world that is running on sustainable energy. The team is excited to see where this new journey takes us.”

Texas aims to get 10 percent of its electricity from renewable energy by 2025. According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), it is already the U.S. state with the most wind energy capacity and will add 10 gigawatts (GW) of utility-scale solar capacity by the end of 2022, compared with 3.2 GW in California. One-third of the utility-scale solar capacity planned to come online in the United States in the next two years (30 GW) will be in Texas, predicts EIA.
