The company received the credits due owing to its emission free operations, leafing to reduction in carbon-dioxide emissions for the period between February 2020 to December 2021. BluSmart operates over 5000 EVs in two urban megacities of India – Delhi NCR and Bengaluru. Initiatives such as these are vital to incentivize environmentally conscious practices and promote sustainable lifestyle through market based mechanisms.” The company said that BluSmart is on a mission to decarbonise mobility at scale and has completed over 300 million all-electric kms since inception over 9.5 million fully electric trips. It also said that Fair Climate Fund India, the carbon consultant, played a pivotal role in carbon estimation of this project and helped BluSmart achieve this feat in record time. BluSmart’s registration in the voluntary carbon markets within the EV ecosystem is a first in India. BluSmart provides city rides in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru. It also provides dedicated airport pick up and drops in Delhi NCR and Benagluru. It started our operations in Bengaluru in September 2022. It was started in 2019 by two co-founders-Anmol Singh Jaggi, Punit K Goyal. The firm also had received a $50M in Series A fundraise last which the firm planned to utilise to rapidly expand across Delhi NCR and the metro cities. It also had placed an order last year for 10,000 XPRES T EVs with Tata Motors to boost its scale.
