India’s e-mobility platform, BLive, has partnered with Awign, a work-as-a-service platform, to onboard 10,000 riders for BLive’s EV Rental Programme over the next 12 months. This collaboration aims to enhance last-mile delivery services across India by providing gig workers with access to affordable electric vehicles (EVs).

Awign, known for optimizing work processes and cost management for large organizations, brings a community of over 1.5 million gig workers. The company collaborates with top enterprises in sectors such as Automotive, Retail, FMCG, Education, Manufacturing, Construction, and Pharmaceuticals.

Through this partnership, BLive’s EZY EV Rental Programme offers gig workers the opportunity to rent EVs at flexible and affordable rates, starting at Rs 1,500 per week. The program’s “Rent to Own” model allows riders to own their EVs after 36 months, promoting both economic independence and sustainable practices.

Industry research shows that 77% of last-mile delivery riders prefer EVs for their environmental benefits, though financial barriers often impede adoption. BLive’s initiative addresses these challenges by providing competitive rental rates and partnering with top EV brands like TVS, Ather, Bounce, and Revolt, ensuring high-quality vehicles with significant savings on fuel, insurance, and maintenance costs.

Riders using the BLive EZY platform can acquire EVs with minimal deposits and no CIBIL check required. The program includes comprehensive insurance, roadside assistance, and extended warranties, ensuring reliable and worry-free service. This initiative not only offers gig workers substantial savings on fuel costs but also allows them to contribute to a sustainable future.

Samarth Kholkar, CEO and Co-Founder of BLive, stated, “This partnership with Awign is a major milestone for BLive. Our EZY EV Rental Programme has been key in lowering financial barriers for delivery workers, and this collaboration will further accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in India. Together with Awign, we are committed to transforming last-mile delivery and promoting sustainable practices.”

Gurpreet Singh, Co-founder and CBO of Awign, added, “At Awign, we’ve been deeply involved in sustainable mobility and related technologies. From deploying charging infrastructure across India to now onboarding 10,000 riders for BLive’s EZY EV Rental Programme, we continue to strive for operational excellence and sustainability.”

This collaboration between BLive and Awign aims to drive the adoption of electric mobility among gig workers, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact. With the Indian EV market, particularly for two-wheelers, projected to reach 1.6 million units by 2025, this partnership leverages the growing gig economy and the increasing demand for last-mile delivery services, making the transition to electric vehicles more accessible and advantageous for gig workers across India.
