LG Energy Solution Vertech Secures 10 GWh ESS Project in US Birla Carbon, a manufacturer and supplier of carbon solutions, recently acquired Nanocyl SA, a Belgium-based firm working on multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT). This acquisition expands Birla Carbon’s presence in the energy systems market, in material critical to Lithium Ion battery performance and other conductive applications. The firm maintains that the key motive of the project is to expand the material portfolio for key markets and establish a leadership position in materials critical to LiB performance. Additionally, it also aims to leverage innovation to drive growth beyond carbon black. The inclusion of Nanocyl’s MWCNTs provides Birla Carbon a wide range of solutions for conductive applications.
