BHEL Issues O&M Tender for 10 MW Solar Project in West Bengal

BHEL has issued an O&M works tender for a 10 MW solar project in West Bengal at Santaldih.

An Indian government undertaking, Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited (BHEL), has issued an operation and maintenance (O&M) works tender for West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company’s 10 MW solar project at Santaldih.

Interested Bidders including, micro, small, and medium enterprises, are expected to pay an EMD (earnest money deposit) of Rs. 510,000. The last date to submit bids has been set for March 13, 2021.

The 10 MW solar project is expected to cost about Rs. 21.5 Lakhs, and will last for five years from the date. The site will be handed over to the selected bidder in March 2021.

The tender has been issued for providing O&M services, including water cleaning about 35,000 modules, maintaining grass, logging of DC, AC, and grid parameters as per BHEL’s format, annual transformer maintenance, testing, and calibrating the 33 kV high-tension equipment.

To find themselves eligible for participation in the bidding process, the bidders must have had an average financial turnover of at least 30 percent of the tender’s estimated value over the last three financial years.

Bidders are expected to have experience completing similar work in the last seven years. They must have completed three similar works costing at least 40 percent of the tender’s estimated cost. Alternatively, bidders will also be eligible if they have completed two similar projects worth about 50 percent of the estimated cost or one similar project costing 80 percent of the estimated value.

Earlier in November 2020, BHEL had issued a tender for the supply of multi-crystalline solar photovoltaic (PV) cells (157 mm-5BB-4.62 Wp) as per BHEL technical specification.

Also, in the same month, BHEL had issued a tender, inviting quotations from eligible firms for the supply of Balance of System (BOS) items and the installation and commissioning of a 20 MW grid-connected solar plant at NTPC Gandhar in Gujarat.
