BEML Inaugurates 200 KW Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar Project in Mysore By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Mar 3rd, 2017 “With the installation and commissioning of the grid-connected rooftop solar project, BEML inches towards achieving the target of utilizing 100 per cent renewable energy for captive consumption” BEML has inaugurated a 200 KW grid-connected rooftop solar project at its Mysore Complex. The Mini Ratna Category-1 Public Sector Company under the Ministry of Defence, has set for itself an unique goal of utilizing 100% renewable energy for its consumption. “With the installation and commissioning of the grid-connected rooftop solar project, BEML inches towards achieving the target of utilizing 100 per cent renewable energy for captive consumption,” said the company in a statement. As part of its renewable energy drive, BEML has commenced its initiation by setting up a 5MW Windmill Project at Gadag District, Karnataka which is generating power since 2007. In addition, BEML has also set up an 18MW Windmill Project at Koppal & Bagalkot districts in Karnataka, whereby power from 9MW Windmill is already getting generated. The balance 9MW project is under commissioning. With this, the total commissioned renewable energy capacity will be 23.2MW which would meet the total power requirement of BEML.
