In the country’s first ever N Type installation featuring Jinko’s Tiger Neo panels, Bangladesh’s leading pharmaceutical company, NAAFCO is powering its operation with solar energy.

The massive rooftop installation houses 1.5 MWp DC of the 555W Tiger Neo Monofacial modules. NAAFCO is a trusted name in Crop Nutrition, Plant Protection, Seeds, Consumer Products, Animal Health and Human Health in Bangladesh.

Dana Power, a reputed local EPC company in Bangladesh carried out the installation. The firm termed Jinko’s N Type offering as the ‘obvious’ choice for this project and stood out in terms of performance as compared to its peers. This will help NAAFCO offset its carbon footprint to an extent and run its operations on clean solar power. The project will achieve commercial operation within January 2023.

Corporate’s Warm Up To Jinko In Bangladesh

Bangladesh, with a high dependence on thermal and gas based power, has been moving in recent years towards more sustainable solar, with the country’s strong textile and now, Pharma sectors expected to lead the way. With a high export exposure, these sectors have every reason to present a more sustainable manufacturing set up to customers worldwide, in any case.

The country has also got a strong base of solar home systems and even peer to peer trading of solar until now, with large solar plants making their presence felt only in the past 2 years.

NAAFCO’s core business is manufacturing of tablets, capsules, powders, oral liquids, etc. Daniel Liu, MD – South & Central Asia, Jinko Solar said, “Healthcare remains the single most primary concern today for mankind and access to medicine is one critical area for people in developing countries. We are both happy and proud that our products are in a way helping solve this issue in a green and clean way. We really value this association with NAAFCO and our EPC partner, Dana Power.”

With a visible project such as this one, Jinko Solar has serious plans to keep on expanding its project footprint in the country with its N type modules and newly launched ESS solutions.
