Azure Power Becomes First Indian RE Company To Get SA8000 By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Jul 8th, 2022 Azure Power has become the first renewable energy company in India to win the award of SA8000:2014. It is a leading sustainable energy solutions provider and renewable power producer in India. SA8000 is the world’s leading social certification programme for factories and organizations across the globe. This is an auditable standard that requires organizations to develop, maintain, and apply socially acceptable practices in the workplace including supply chain. It was established by Social Accountability International in 1997 as a multi-stakeholder initiative. Over the years, the Standard has evolved into an overall framework that helps certified organizations demonstrate their dedication to the fair treatment of workers across industries and in any country.
