Australian Multi-utility ActewAGL Initiates Set up of 58 EV Chargers ActewAGL, an Australian multi-utility joint venture firm that provides utility services in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and south-east New South Wales as well as the Australian Parliament House, has set sights on the installation of 58 new electric vehicle (EV) chargers. These will be established across the Parliament House premises. The initiative began with the setup of ten EV chargers in the visitor’s car park on November 13, 2023. The project has EVSE Australia as its EV charger delivery partner while Shepherd Electrical will be responsible for providing local installation. The project will pave the way for local businesses to work in partnership with the Federal Government. The project aids the National Electric Vehicle Strategy. The project is a significant one since it will give a massive push to Australia’s goal of having a minimum of 180 public chargers online by 2025. Additionally, the project will help the transition of the COMCAR fleet from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric vehicles. The timeline for their commissioning is 2024. Seven of the new electric vehicles chargers will come up at car parking spots. The chargers will boast 7kW and 22kW of capacity. ActewAGL has installed over 100 EV charge points in the Australian Capital Territory, as well as for the Federal Government, local businesses etc. For the next one year, the firm has already signed contracts for the installation of a 100 charge points.
