Artificial Intelligence (AI) Will Enhance the Efficiency of Renewable Energy Projects: Reports By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, Nov 23rd, 2017 The use of autonomous drones will offer quicker and efficient remote inspection and maintenance. As per the suggestion by DNV GL, stating that technologies such as autonomous robotics and machine learning can help improve areas such as decision making and planning, condition monitoring, inspections and supply chain optimization which in turn help boost efficiencies across the renewable energy sector in the coming years. AI (Artificial Intelligence) is well complemented to renewable industry as it has a relatively data-rich ambience and an apt infrastructure equipped with sensors, the firm claimed. The report also suggests the use of autonomous drones for quicker and efficient remote inspection and maintenance, with the added advantage of increased safety to humans not having to climb tall structures. Robots are also likely to be used in the future to transport and build entire onshore Solar or wind farms by themselves. “We expect the installation of more sensors, the increase in easier-to-use machine learning tools and the continuous expansion of data monitoring, processing and analytics capabilities to create new operating efficiencies and new and disruptive business models.” Said Lucy Craig, Director Technology and Innovation at DNV GL Energy.
