Apple Makes Clean Energy Charging a Reality By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Tue, Oct 25th, 2022 American multinational giant Apple has added a new feature to iOS 16.1-enabled iPhones which will make clean energy charging a reality. Using this feature will now make it possible for allow users to cut down on their carbon footprint. The new feature of clean energy charging allow a user to charge their phone during low-carbon electricity. Jointly with “Optimised Battery Charging”, the clean energy charging works at altering a user’s charging habits. It engages where a user expends the maximum time, for instance, home or work, and charges the iPhone for long periods on a regular basis. In the case that charging habits vary or a user travels to a new location, the feature does not work. The feature of clean energy charging is currently available only in the United States. The feature is enable automatically once the user sets up his or her iPhone or upgrades to iOS 16.1. A users can only disable it by navigating to Settings, Battery, Battery Health and Charging and then turning the clean energy charging feature off. Every time that the clean energy charging is suspended, an alert pops on the lock screen in order to inform a user when the phone will be fully charged. In case a user wants that their iPhone be charged sooner than when it is scheduled for, he or she can choose the option of “Charge Now” after holding the notification for a few seconds. Other than the clean energy charging feature, the iOS 16.1 also boasts of live activities, wallet key sharing, lock screen/home screen customisation, matter support, delete wallet app, battery percentage in the status bar, screenshot UI, and many other features.
