To be developed under the RESCO, the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) has issued tenders for 15 MW grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. All the projects are to be set up on top of government buildings across the state. From the date of award of the contract, the successful bidder has 9 months to commission the projects. The NREDCAP has specified in the tender that all the modules utilized for these projects should be made in India. The upper tariff cap for this tender has been fixed by NREDCAP at Rs 5 per KW, and the project size will vary from 50 KW to 500 KW. The scope of work includes the identification of buildings and leasing rooftops for 25 years, obtaining a no-objection certificate (NOC) from distribution company (DISCOM) for grid connectivity, design, engineering, manufacture, supply, storage, civil work, installation, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected rooftop solar PV project. After the date of commissioning the successful bidders will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for a duration of 25 years. In order to meet the increasing energy demands in the state, the NREDCAP has been trying to promote rooftop solar.
