Andhra Edu Institute Goes Solar, Partners With Amp Energy India By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Wed, Nov 17th, 2021 Highlights : The School of Planning & Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, have inaugurated a rooftop project that as developed by renewable energy independent power producer (IPP) Amp Energy India. SPA and Amp Energy India have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) under SECI’s rooftop scheme for the procurement of solar power for 25 years. Earlier this week, the School of Planning & Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated a rooftop project that as developed by renewable energy independent power producer (IPP) Amp Energy India. The 120kW solar rooftop plant has been developed under the rooftop scheme of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for government entities. SPA and Amp Energy India have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) under this scheme for the procurement of solar power for 25 years. The solar plant is expected to generate about 1.68 lakh units per year, cater to around 50% of the school’s energy consumption and save 18%-20% on their electricity bill every year. In addition to economic savings, the plant will also help mitigate about 600 tons of CO2 per annum. Amp India has already commissioned solar projects for Pondicherry University, National Law University (Bhopal) and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, among others. “We believe solar power should be a part of most of real estate development projects across India. Partnering with educational institutions provide the right platform to demonstrate the upcoming generation about the benefits of renewables.
